Article Article Intro
There are only 2 ways you can prospect. Now I know there are 1000’s of trainings, and so many different methods of prospecting that are out there. They can all be lumped under these two categories. Let me see if I can do a good enough job to share with you my point of view, so it makes sense. Here we go, you ready? Head prospecting When I listen to someone tell me their “elevator pitch” or “peaking interest” statements, I listen to the words they use. If there is info about product, company, money, ingredients, comparisons… etc. When I hear things like this, I begin to lean towards the head method. All too often when we begin our prospecting, when we get started in our business, we fall into this method of prospecting. Here is the tough question – WHY?

Article Content

Why do we run down this path of “head prospecting”? Here is why I think we do it. This is the easy way for us to communicate, to share, to tell, to convince, to persuade. Results: 93% failure rate. How can I be so specific? Well lets go to the facts, proven facts not by me. Facts that come from real science, and it’s the science of communication.

It is a fact that when we communicate, only 7% of our 100% possible means of communicating with a prospect, our words ONLY count for 7% of the entire conversation.

So this begs the question… Why do we prospect with words? If the statistics are true, and we pick the worlds greatest 7% of words we can use, we still have a 93% chance of failure. This has to lead any serious person then to ask.. What the heck am I doing focusing on words, when I really need to be looking at the other 93% that I may already be good at? Heart prospecting Want to know what makes up the 93%? EVERYTHING OTHER THAN WORDS!!! That is the easiest way to explain it. How you stand… when was the last time you looked at your posture in the mirror and asked – Does this make me look confident, do I look as if I’m someone that can lead people, bring them value, be of support? Where do you look when you are talking to someone? Do you look them in the eye.. more importantly, THEIR dominate eye to make a soul to soul connection? You can create this connection, even when you are NOT speaking!!!! Did you know that? How about the “music” in your voice. Again, not the words, or even the tone of your voice. I’m talking about the music IN your voice. Do you make people feel calm, confident, energetic? These are all part of the 97% of the things that you can do to help the words you choose to tell your story! If you are serious about creating more connections, building more bridges, harboring more happiness in your life, then take some time to look at the things that are right in front of you, that are a part of you that make up YOU!!!

It’s not just the words, there is so much more to you than words can describe…. and since we know that is TRUE…

Your prospects are more then just words as well!!!! Feel free to find me in social media, and I’d love to spend 30 mins with you and share with you what I’ve have been sharing with folks around the world for the past 30 years… many who have gone from frustration, to the top of their companies, learning to get out of their head, and into their heart. Are you ready to professionally prospect with love and caring… then go have some fun. Hugs from Dallas.. . Sean
